The Hollywood Park Casino and the Cal-Pac Rancho Cordova are two of the cardrooms that have taken legal action against a measure that would make sports betting legal in California and open the door for lawsuits between cardrooms and casinos owned by indigenous communities.

Legal action was initiated in the Superior Court of Los Angeles.

It will try to put an end to a measure that could be on the November ballot in California: the Sports Wagering Regulation and Unlawful Gambling Enforcement Act. If there are enough signatures collected in favour of the ballot, a California referendum on the legalisation of sports betting will be held in November.
